Proud Infidel ranting about the ongoing war against democratic and secular values (Don't fool yourselves)! Maybe a voice of sanity in a wide ocean of madness.

Upside down- Inside out

According to Expressen (SWE) an al qaida branch "wellcomes" the election of McCain for president of the USA.

HUH?

Well- as it happens, the AQ- source means that that would be an incitament to keep doing terror bombings and other kinds of terror attacks.

So- correct me if I'm wrong. But does not this mean that AQ are in favour for Obama but would like McCain as the president just to have a reason to keep on with the violence?
Sheesh!

That IS amusing.

But the U.S. isn't Spain...at least, not yet.

A lot of Westerners (Europeans AND Americans) grossly underestimate the jihadists, comforting themselves that "The jihadists are all just cave-dwelling, primitives, who're really no threat to us at all."

Yeah, "primitive, cave-dwellers" with PC's and cell phones and a pretty decent public relations arm, to boot.

I hate to say "root for another attack on U.S. soil," BUT one of the ONLY things that might quickly derail America's almost certain return to its 1970s "French-styled" Keynesianism, may be another jihadist attack on U.S. soil.

I certainly don't want to see that, but I wouldn't blame Europeans and others who hold out hope of America being the last refuge of true market-based economic principles....along with those others who've gotten accustomed to American foreign aid (one of the first things to be reduced when budgets shrink, is foreign aid), hoping for anything that might shock America back to some semblence of fiscal sanity.
