Proud Infidel ranting about the ongoing war against democratic and secular values (Don't fool yourselves)! Maybe a voice of sanity in a wide ocean of madness.

Socialism squared

In Sweden you have to pay a "TV- license" if you own a TV- set. Yes thats right. In most other countrys you have to have a license to drive a car, or own a gun or do welding jobs- but here in Sweden you need a license to own a TV- set!
The TV-license is said to be there for finacing public television. It does not matter if you actually watch those channels (as I for example never do) you still have to pay for them (besides paying for the commercial financed channels- how about that!). If you own a TV- set you have to pay the license fee.

But now "public service television channels" are going to put out all their programmes on the internet (streaming low quality video). The abrĂ¡- cadabra of it all is that everybody who are connected to the internet will be forced to pay the licence fee, whether or wheter not you own a TV- set or see the programmes over the internet!

I don't know about you- but I don't care for paying for game shows and other crap which I do not want to see in the first place. I have not watched a program at public service channels for atleast five years! In my opinion they owe me several thousands of crowns...

But, nah! They just keep on screwing me until the flesh of my fingertips is ground down to the bone!

I know, I shouldn't, but here it comes; Ggggggnnnaaaaarrrrggggghhhh!

Well, they do that here in the US too, only they call it federal excise tax. It runs me $25.00 a month, added to my cable/telephone bill.

Bastards tax everything; only tax and death are certain.

Well it's even worse than I thought from the start. The new legislation will also affect those with cell phones that "can" (but no necessarily do) take in broadcasts (certain types of cell cards don't allow you to do it- E.G cashcards). But also cellphones who can take in public service radio broadcasts are counted in. A supermarket chain "Netto" who sold cheap television sets also had to pay the license. Even though all the TV- sets were packed down in cartons and they had no way to plug them in to a digital reciever!

Sometimes I get these headaches. I wonder what it could be... Nnnngngghhhh!

Sounds like a bad case of socialism, Pela.

Remove politicians, withdraw monies from the control by the state and sleep tight.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to remove these parasites who burrow under your skin. It is a constant process to keep them under control and in many instances eradicating them results in fatal consequences to the host.

Amazing!

And socialists love saying stupid things like "Everything is FREE under socialism."

Yes, if by "FREE," you mean paid for five times over what it's worth, in taxes, regulations and Liberty restricted.
